Dragonball 2CL: 2 Centuries Later - Written by T. Stewart (phelan_d@sbcglobal.net) Chapter 3 A figure slinked through the nearby forest hiding behind trees, ducking in the shadows, and moving at incredible speeds. It sped through the brush of the forest pushing aside leaves and branches as it went faster and faster. It's footsteps were like nothing, soundless as they sprinted through the thick underbrush. Suddenly it stopped hiding behind a tree slowly peaking it's head out to see anything. It looked around the small cottage for any signs of movement, none came. This was going smoothly just as it had planned, it would go in perform it's mission then leave without making the slightest sound. Perfect. It quickly made a move toward the cabin when it heard a voice. " Whoever you are you should leave before I'm forced to hurt you," the assassin whirled around to look into the wrinkled face of Hunong. It's eyes narrowed into little slits as it realized it's mission would now become a lot more difficult. Hunong stepped forward menacingly, " I said it once this is the last time, leave now!" Hunong growled. The night hung over them like a grand blanket spreading what little light it had over the forest landscape, which was now deadly quiet. The chirping of a cricket now seemed like the rumbling of a train as the two warrior stared at each other letting the tension build higher and higher. The assassin cursed itself, it had forgotten about the master's ability to sense powers. It had hoped to avoid confrontation with the great fighter and simply take out it's target. It knew it was far weaker then the martial arts master. It looked back at the cabin realizing just how close it had come to completing it's assignment. There was only one thing to do. " YAAA!!!" the assassin screamed as she let loose a dagger spinning round and round ready to dig itself into Hunong's flesh. Hunong batted the small knife away a look of utter contempt on his face. " Don't insult me," Hunong zanzokened as he said these words reappearing behind the female assassin. To his surprise as Hunong thrusted at the back of her head she blurred out of his sight leaving his arm punching nothing but air. Hunong blurred with amazing speed to where he sensed her power. He appeared infront of her as she headed towards Kile's window. Before the assassin had time to react Hunong's knee was set deeply into her stomach causing her to cough up saliva and a bit of blood. Hunong then punched her across the face sending her stumbling across the ground trying to regain her footing. Hunong then zanzokened right in front of her, to her astonishment and terror. In an act of desperation she aimed an uppercut at Hunong's chin. Instead of her fist hitting air it collided with his chin with cracks and blood. The assassin fell back on her knees grasping her hand which felt like it had run into an iron wall. The impact had split he skin open causing blood to soak all into her black outfit. The cry of pain didn't show through her dark mask, but her eyes still gave away the agony of her injury. Hunong wiped his opponents blood from his chin, " now tell me who sent you," Hunong commanded. The assassin slowly rose from the ground releasing her injured hand letting the blood drip onto the ground splattering in all directions. The female shook with rage at not only the strength of her opponent, but her obvious failure. She constricted her hands into white knuckle fists squeezing even more blood from her fingers. She couldn't fail, she was so close this was the mission to show whether or not she was fit to be a member of her clan. " I WILL NOT FAIL!!!!" she screamed forcing her power to grow more and more immense. " AAAAHHHHHH!!!!" the night lit up as a white fire surrounded her body and the forest's trees and bushes wipped back and forth as her power blew in all directions throwing up rocks and dirt from the forest long dormant floor. " VERTIGO!!!!" she shrieked her power blasting the forest into a frenzy all around her. She placed both her hands in front of her chest and began screeching making a sound louder than that of the Siriah's. The sound waves were nearly visible as the impossible noise blasted from her mouth on and on. Hunong had both hands to his ears trying with all his might to smother the incredible noise from his ears, but to no avail. " AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!" the assassin moved closer to the immobilized Hunong screaming until the sound was simply an excruciating hum in his brain. Hunong slowly went to his knees holding his head tighter and tighter as she approached. Hunong shook violently his body convulsing with pain, he had to stop it, but he could barely move less put up a decent attack... Hunong's thoughts began to grow fuzzy and his mind found it difficult to concentrate on one thing. He then realized he was close to passing out. Hunong reached for the assassin, but his hand fell short as an overwhelming blackness covered his world. The assassin's earsplitting sound slowly dissapated leaving the forest as it was once before, deadly quiet. She smiled to herself. She'd just learned that attack, well sort of. She hadn't yet mastered the technique and once was more than enough for her. She turned around to the small cabin, now to take out her target. She looked back at the fallen master, she could take him out now... no. That wasn't part of her mission, she wasn't compelled to leave a trail of dead bodies in her wake like some of her clans people. She looked back and walked toward the house. " SIRIAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" The sky lit up in a purple haze as a deafening blare filled the forest once again. The assassin looked to where she sensed the blast, but it was too late. The sound of her scream was eclipsed by the Siriah blast as it smashed into her side burning away her out-fit and burning at her skin. The beam carried her off the ground upwards and backwards until she crashed straight through a nearby redwood. The giant tree fell over as it's top was separated from it's stump. Finally the blinding light and thunderous sound dissapated. The forest grew quiet once more. Kile walked over to the fighter he'd just laid waste to. To his surprise it was a woman, which he found out when he looked upon her. Her clothes were ripped apart revealing one breast and a bright red midsection. Kile turned his head in embarrassment before he realized what he was going up against. He looked back at the fallen warrior, then pulled his gaze down to his hands. They still stung a bit from the heat of the blast, but he did it he'd defeated a warrior just as strong or even stronger than he. Woman or not he was happy. His gaze returned to the exposed woman, I should probably cover her up or something, he thought. He turned around as he sensed the weakened, but still powerful Master Hunong. Hunong walked forward holding out his robe. " Here no woman deserves to have her body showing when she's passed out on the ground," Hunong covered the woman with the robe and picked her up off the ground, " we'll question her when she wakes, her target was obviously you seeing that she didn't kill me while I was unconcsious." Kile nodded in agreement. He didn't know of any people who would want to kill him, but whoever they were they were certainly determined. Kile headed to the old worn down cottage the leaves and dirt crunching underneath his feet as he walked down the foot made path. The door creaked loudly, it's hinges begging for oil as Kile opened it. Hunong stepped forward still holding the young woman wedding style in his arms. He stepped through the cabin and pushed open the door to Kile's room. He knelt down as he laid the girl onto the bed trying not to hit her head on the wooden posts, which potruded from the corners. " Master, why are you treating her so? She did try to kill me," Kile said standing in the doorway barely visible through the dark cabin. " Do not question your master's judgment, now light the candles and bring some here," Hunong ordered. Kile didn't ask another question and walked back into the nearly pitch black living room. He picked up a candlestick and pointed his finger at it. His entire concentration was required for this feat. Suddenly a small white beam shot from his finger igniting the candle. He repeated this process one more time and came back holding two candles, one in each hand. Hunong reached from the side of the bed and grabbed one of the candles, Kile placed the other on his night stand it's flame dancing a bit as it made contact with the wooden piece. Kile watched Hunong's shadow flick and flow along the wall as he tended to the girl, checking for wounds as he examined her body. He then slowly removed the mask which covered her face. Kile held back a gasp as he looked upon the face of his attacker. She was beautiful with raven colored hair that was rolled up in a bun atop her head. Her face was flawless except for a long deep red scar coming down from right above her eyebrow to the middle of her cheek. Hunong pointed at the scar, " the mark of the Shatzo clan." Kile looked closer at the long red scar, " Shatzo clan?" " Genetically engineered super humans. They're mercenaries, assassins, only those most deeply set in the martial arts even knows of their existence. That would explain this young woman's beauty." Kile smiled, it seemed her looks weren't ignored by Hunong. " Get me a set of your training clothes," Hunong said still looking over the young woman. Kile slowly stepped back and walked to his closet. " What the hell is he doing?" Kile thought to himself grabbing a pair of pants and a shirt, " As far as I know she is the enemy." Kile stepped back toward the bed laying the clothes down next to Hunong. " She spared my life when she could have easily taken it. I owe her my gratitude," Hunong rubbed his head, " but the headache she has given me makes me somewhat question my motives." Hunong let a smile escape as he said those words and rose from the bedside. " You may sleep in my room. I will wake you early next morning so you are ready for your parents," Hunong said brushing past Kile and into the kitchen. Kile bowed his head in deep respect to his master and walked into Hunong's room. It was even more sparse than his with practically a wooden slab for his bed, Kile smiled, Hunong truly was a simple man. Kile strode to the bed and lay his body onto the slab. Kile found his thoughts returning to the young woman now sleeping in his bed and how she was able to put down one of the strongest men in the world. Then he found himself wondering why such a group as the Shatzo would want to kill him, maybe it had something to do with his father and the company. These thoughts seemed to escape him as keeping a clear head was becoming more and more difficult. Kile's eyes felt like weights as they slid down covering his eyes until he gave into the blackness of the sleep. Hunong sat in a small chair next to the attacker's bed, staring mostly into space as his thoughts ran wild. The Shatzo, he couldn't believe it. Ten years ago he'd fought with the grandmaster of the Shatzo, it was an intense battle, he could remember. Both he and the grandmaster were great martial artists and experienced fighters as well. He'd barely defeated the grandmaster, but when the great fighter died bruised and bloodied on the ground his last words were all about how the Shatzo would return. As soon as Hunong looked at the rest of the fighters ready to destroy them one by one, they didn't seem to eager to resurrect the clan as they ran away. Hunong smiled recalling the memory and looked back at the girl. "It doesn't make sense, why didn't you even try to kill me?" he thought. Seeming to read his mind the young woman stirred her eyes slowing letting her slip back into consciousness. Suddenly her eyes shot open as she panicked realizing she was now a prisoner. She tried to sit up but the whole left side of her body screamed in protest. She turned her head at Hunong, eyes filled with unquenchable hatred, " why have you taken me prisoner old fool," she practically growled at the old master. " I haven't taken you prisoner, I am tending your wounds," Hunong pointed at the bandages which covered her whole torso. " My student did fairly well in restraining you," Hunong said a crooked smile on his face. " Yes, such sneaky tactics surprise me from the student of such a great master," her voice was drenched in sarcasm and contempt. " About my student what was your mission, and why would the Shatzo send such a weak fighter," Hunong countered. The woman grit her teeth, " I think my mission was fairly clear, and I was strong enough to bring you to your knees." Hunong nodded his head, " ah yes, you did didn't you, but now I know how to avoid that move so it won't be a problem again," Hunong's face turned serious his wrinkles deepening as the frown spread down his figure, " tell me why the Shatzo have targeted my student." " Why would such a weak low class fighter as myself know why my superiors targeted your little boy," she said shrugging her shoulders. Hunong rose from his chair though he was old his figure and the fact that he had defeated a man half his age, their former grandmaster, made him look rather intimidating to the woman. " Get some sleep, I will continue my questioning in the morning," Hunong turned to leave ,but then stopped, " I will not be asleep, I would advise you to not try anything." Hunong stepped through the door and closed it with a slam. The woman fell back to her pillow in exhaustion, even sitting up was a strain on her weakened body and hiding her pain from the master was excruciatingly painful. She knew she couldn't leave until her mission was complete and she wouldn't stop until then. She sighed deeply and began reciting to herself the three virtues, " I will at all times remain loyal, powerful, and aggressive and I will never break these virtues and will always remain truthful to the Shatzo." After this the woman let herself fall more into unconsciousness than sleep the candle still dancing giving off it's soft light. Kile's eyes fluttered then slowly opened marking the end of his sleep. He let out a long breath and looked around the nearly pitch black room, Hunong was such a simple man. Kile pulled the covers down his legs and over the side of the bed. He turned and sat on the bed his legs over the side and stayed there for a moment. He stretched as he stood up from the bed pulling and tightening every muscle in his body, head to toe. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes he bent down into his already packed bag and grabbed out his few articles of clothing that weren't nearly torn to shreds. Hid mind flew back to the events of the night prior. He wondered how badly the girl had been hurt or even if she was still in the cabin. Slowly his thoughts crept back to the young woman's face and the beauty it contained, man she was unbelievable. He shoved those thoughts from his mind, realizing the absurdity and the futility of them. An enemy, she was an enemy that was all there was to it, coming into their forest and trying to kill him and he's thinking about getting some. Maybe it was because it had been a while since he last saw a girl. Kile grabbed his bag and opened the door stepping through the hall and into the living room where Hunong sat on his knees laying his hands on his lap. His eyes were closed as he sat in deep meditation, only a few times had Kile ever witnessed his masters meditation. He knew better than to even try to communicate with the old master. Instead he decided to see the girl, to see if she was still even there. He didn't even know what his legs were truly doing as he headed toward his room. The door groaned as it slid open along the floor and there lay the dark haired girl. Her eyes were closed tight and she arms were crossed across her body like she was holding herself. Kile looked back at Hunong who was still in his deep meditation, then back at the girl. It felt like he was doing something wrong almost. He looked back at Hunong one more time and stepped into suddenly he was face to face with his assassin. Her piercing jet black eyes ran right through as their noses hovered in front of each other. Kile could feel her breathing on his skin an he held his breath waiting for her to make the next move. She stepped back somewhat awkwardly, he could see that the pain from his attack was still shooting up her side. " You and you're master for some reason or other have been very kind to me. Though I am grateful... I have a mission to accomplish," She slowly gracelessly went into a fighting stance. Kile's eyes opened widely at the persistence of this girl, amazing. Kile put up his hand trying to stiffle his laugh, " c'mon even if you really are stronger than me. There's no way you can beat me the way you are." The girl snarled at him and was about to swing when Hunong appeared blurring between Kile and the girl. The girl stopped her punch less than an inch from Hunong's nose, Hunong felt the rush of air as he stood there motionless. " Lezzea I think it's time for you to depart," Hunong said bluntly. She looked at Kile ready to kill then back at Hunong, " how did you know my name?" her arm was still pulled back ready to punch. " It doesn't matter, now leave," Hunong commanded. Kile stood behind Hunong looking straight into the face of his would be killer. " Get the hell out of my way old man!!!" she screamed getting ready to try and punch through Hunong. Hunong like a statue didn't move, " do you really want to try that?" Lazzea swelled with anger, but slowly pulled down her arm to her side. She stood there rage bubblying inside her, she was so close; so close to being a true Shatzo, so close to being one of her clan. She couldn't fail now, so much training some much pain, only one more life to take, only one more mission to complete. It just wasn't fair, she gazed at the young boy in disgust and wanting. She wanted so badly to just end it, but there was no way to get through Hunong. Suddenly she just couldn't do it any more. She couldn't hold them back, as hard as she tried and as much as she had trained she was now being reduced to a crying little girl. The tears flooded her eyes and ran down her cheeks. No it wouldn't, it couldn't be this way. She raised her arm once again ready to slam her fist into Hunong's face. Her side screamed with agony and her arm fell back to her side in despair. She fell to her knees ignoring th! e pain that swept through his legs, the tears kept rolling and rolling she couldn't stop them. She was tired of being strong, just tired. Kile barely could contain his own tears, not only could he see her sorrow, but he could feel it he could sense her misery. He could feel it in the back of his mind, throbbing in his head, all because she couldn't kill him. Slowly she rose from the ground wiping her tears as she did so. Once again she was standing proud as if no one could touch her and the grief that he could once sense from her was all but gone. " I'm leaving n-no-now," suddenly her legs buckled from underneath her and she began to fall to ground. Kile stepped from behind Hunong and faster than a blink he was behind Lazzea holding her up. " I-I think she's passed out," Kile said holding her body up. " Lye her back onto the bed, and get ready to leave I can feel your father coming," Hunong said. As Kile pulled Lazzea onto the bed he felt out his father's presence. He could barely sense him, but he found him. He was coming through the air in his air limo no doubt. Kile place Lezzea onto the bed and headed out of the room. Hunong placed his hand onto Kile's shoulder. His eyes were closed as he spoke, " you were more than my student, you were like a son to me Kile I'll never forget you." Hunong pulled his hand from Kile's shoulder and let Kile walk by. Kile grabbed his bag and walked toward the front door. Suddenly tears welled up in his eyes and he fought to keep them back. His jaw started to shake as he reached for the door, and he held back the squeals that were tying to escape from his mouth. He turned the knob and walked through. "Look through your ancestor Bulma's old files. Search under the word Saiyans. The keywords to access the files are 'my love'. You'll find some interesting training methods in there," hunong said from the back room. Kile stood there for a moment then walked through the door and closed it behind him. Kile gazed at his breath as it rose up in an airy cloud. His neck arched up as he saw his father's lengthy air limousine slowly drop to the ground blowing folliage and brush in all directions from it's landing point. The limo made a thumping sound as it hit the ground and it's motors and other devices slowly died down, calming the wind that was once blasting from it. The very front door opened and out of it came a squat old man. He was nearly a foot shorter than Kile and had a slight combover over the bald spot of his head. His mustache was brown unlike the rest of his hair which was a snowy white. Kile could hardly contain his smile at seeing the family butler and his friend ever since he was born. Darwin the butler smiled back and headed toward the back of the limo. Kile walked forward as Darwin opened the door for him leading him inside the car and to his father. Kile steadily made his way through the forest and away from the cabin which had been his house for two great years. The sun glowed through the trees casting shadows all over his face that flew over his body as he moved toward the car. He was about as happy as he could get for seeing his dad, but he was going to miss Hunong. He couldn't contain his urge to grab and hug Darwin as he was about to enter the car. " My have you grown young master, it has been so long since I've last laid my eyes upon you," Darwin hugged Kile back reaching upwards in the embrace. Out of the car came a well dressed leg followed by the rest of a well dressed body. Kile's father was a tall strong looking man with a great presence wherever he went. Hi hair was a deep brown just like Kile's and also like Kile his eyes were a deep glossy blue. Kile let go of Darwin and looked at his father. He looked the same if a little more gray in some places than he remembered, other than that it was if the two years hadn't passed for his father. It couldn't be said the same for Kile thoug. " My god son you're a giant, I can't believe it," Kile father grabbed hold of Kile in a deep embrace. " It hasn't been the same in the house without you son," Kile's father said as he held him tight. Kile returned the hug. Finally after a long moment the two released and Kile's dad let him go into the car first. " Master Briefs would you like to go straight or stop at the office," Darwin asked still holding the door open for the two. " No Darwin this is a special day take us straight home," Briefs said. Darwin nodded his head as the head of Capsule corp. stepped into his limo. Darwin shut the door and walked to the fron tof the limo stepping into it himself. The engines of the hover craft fired to life shooting dirt and dust into the air. It rose into the air slowly reaching heights far above the highest tree, then it turned around away from Hunong's cabin and shot through the air fading way into the horizon. Hunong hovered a fair distance away looking at the Hover car speed through the sky. He practically stood on the air his arms crossed. His hair fluttered in the wind sweeping infront of his face and eyes. Never had he cared for a student such as Kile. Perhaps he wouldn't need to wait for another great student to come along. He now decided that his newest pupil was at this very moment laying in his last student's bed. Now if he could only show her, her true destiny and power.
