Dragonball 2CL: 2 Centuries Later - Written by T. Stewart (phelan_d@sbcglobal.net) Chapter 1 200 years later. The room was still dark even though the sun was beginning to rise. It was a simple place with a cupboard which barely stood with but three legs and a window that had a plain looking curtain. Filling in nearly entire right side of the room was a modest looking bed which at the time was being occupied by a young man. His hair was wild and unkept flailing out in all directions. Almost fifteen years of age his build was more than that of a boys, but not yet a man. His eyes flickered, then released themselves from their prison of sleep revealing deep blue pools that were his eyes. He squinted as the first rays of a new day skirted across his face. Slowly he rose out of his bed pealing the covers from atop him. He stretched his arms out to their full length and yawned a lion of a yawn. With only boxers to cover himself the teen went toward the three leged cupboard to search for the days atire. Suddenly the door opened to reveal a short man with black hair along the sides of his balding head. His eyes looked tired and old with deep dark wrinkles carved from an unyeilding sun. " Come boy today is a new day for training, insight, and meditation," he said turning to shut the door once more. " Yes Master Hunong," the boy replied bowing his head somewhat. Everyday started with those exact words ushering in a new wave of learning and training. The teen opened up the cupboard slowly as to not disturb it and cause it to fall to the floor. He quickly pulled out his daily training clothes, which consisted of a dark blue shirt and loose black sweat pants. He quickly dawned the attire and pulled from under his bed his pair a white slipper-like shoes which he pulled on to a tight fit. He walked out of his room and entered the rest of the shabby old cabin. There was a small kitchen consisting of a gas stove and a table with two chairs near the left corner of the house. To the right, in the same room, was a living area with a wooden couch and a coffe table, which was not by any stretch of the imagination a nice table. Through those two about fifteen feet infront lead to Master Hunong's room. And to his immediate right was the open doorway which led outside to the dense forest of His training ground. The boy walked throung the door to see his master waiting for him a few feet outside. " Let us go Kile," Hunong said. Kile walked over to Hunong's side and awaited the order that he knew was coming. " If you beat me I will advance your training, if not, then we will continue this regiment," Hunong said looking upward into the blue sky. Kile readied himself, he wasn't going to train the same way another day, he had to beat Hunong. " Ready!" Kile grit his teeth and dug his foot into the ground ready to push off at any second. Hunong stood there looking into the sky breathing in the cool mountain air, he's progressed far faster than any of my other students maybe he'll beat me this time, he thought to himself. " Go!" Both Hunong and Kile shot up hundreds of feet in the air leaving the ground beneath them cloudy with dust. Kile finally stopped his acsent and shot down the mountain skimming the tops of the trees, I'm infront, he thought, I just have to keep my lead. Out of the corner of his eye Kile could See Hunong coming closer and closer. Suddenly Hunong passed up Kile darting in and out of the treetops his silky red robe flailing wildly as the air blew over it. If Kile could've hurt something he would have, C'mon Kile you can fly faster than he can, you have to concentrate, Kile barred his teeth and shot forwards at amazing speed. By now both were buzzing in and out of the dense forest at incredible velocities. Kile pushed harder and harder trying to catch his master, he could see their training ground now over the canopy top. Dammit, faster Kile, faster. Kile mustered up the rest of the energy he could find inside of himself and let it out in an explosion of white power which surrounded his body and left a tail behind him. Kile zoomed forward blasting past Hunong. His speed was dizzingly fast as he approached the foot of the mountain and the ground on which he'd trained on for nearly two years. Kile kept up his blistering speed fearing that at any moment Hunong would pass him up leaving him in the dust. All doubts in his mind soon dissappeared as he landed digging his feet deep into the hard dirt floor. Kile's face was covered with beads and rivers of sweat as he gasped for breath nearly exhausted, and this is only the beginning of today's training, he thought as he gasped one last time before Hunong landed gracefully beside him. " Very good boy, but I'm not impressed," Hunong said placing his arms comfortably behind his back, " we have a tough day ahead us. Catch your breath and then we begin the new training." Kile doubled over with his hands on his knees heaving in breaths. Hunong walked into the forest leaving Kile to himself. Slowly Kile stood back up his body protesting by throwing out waves of pain and fatigue. " Come boy, your break is over," Hunong raised his voice as he traveled to the training ground. Kile took the first painful step, his muscles screaming at him, then walked at a near normal pace toward the training ground. Kile brushed bushy tree branches out of his face as he made his way through the thick forest. Finally he came upon the edge of the forest where the trees seemingly stopped growing leaving only thick bushes and sparse patches of grass. The air was crisp and clean, a far cry from the bustling city from which Kile had grown up, and no matter how many clean air laws or low smog cars there were it would never compare to this. Still as clean, brisk, or cool this air was Kile was still heaving in great gasps. " Alright. Since you seem so eager to advance your training we will begin with a new technique," Hunong turned around to face the winded Kile, " hit me, if you can." Suddenly Hunong blurred out of view seemingly disappearing into thin air. Kile stood there stunned finally catching his breath looking around stupidly for the martial arts master. Kile went into his fighting stance ready for an impending sneak attack. He couldn't sense powers on any sort of strong weak scale, but he could sense presences if he quieted his mind to absolute silence. Kile barely breathed as he searched for his master's spirit. " Come boy, by now you can feel my approach," Kile whirled around to come face to face with Hunong, " you must feel out not only my spirit, but your's as well. You must silence your own soul to hear the sound of other's." Then in the blink of an eye Hunong disappeared out of vision. " Next time I won't just stand behind you. We are training now!" Hunong's voice echoed everywhere but came from nowhere. Kile tried to calm his panic-stricken mind searching the forest frantically. Suddenly Kile felt something, he didn't know what, but it was there, somewhere, no behind to his right above. Kile swung around raising his arm in a blocking position awaiting the attack he could feel coming through every vein in his body. It felt as if a freight train smashed into his arm as Hunong came at him with a diving fist. Kile leaped back trying to regain his footing after the diving attack. He rubbed his arm as it throbbed with pain. " Good, good. Very impressive, I was ready to take your head off with that attack," Hunong stood, his arms crossed behind him, " continue your drills I'm returning to the cabin," effortlessly Hunong rose from the ground and shot off into the air. Kile rubbed his arm furiously. Kile punched and kicked at the air with a speed unimaginable by human standards. He leaped gracefully into the air and came down upon his invisible enemy. His battle cries could be heard all through the forest as he spun and twisted unleashing what would have been devastating attacks on any Earth creature. His muscles flexed rippled violently as he attacked the air with an inhuman vigor. Sweat dripped down his face and onto the earth below as he released another killer strike. Suddenly he fell to his knees gasping violently attempting to fill his starved lungs with air. This is starting to get intense, he thought to himself as he slowly rose from his knees. His power had grown substantially since the first time he sensed Hunong's flying attack. Now feeling out powers had become second nature and like a finger-print he could distinguish between other people's power. His strength had just about tripled as did his speed throughout his training. His once mediocre training sessions such as these had now become blazingly fast, to the point where Kile was having trouble keeping up with himself. Kile took a deep breath and readied himself in a battle position. Suddenly he could feel himself, his power, his essence growing bubbling with renewed strength. He grunted slightly trying to fill his being with more power, he grunted slightly as he tried to force more of his strength into his body. His small grunts soon turned into a growling which grew until before Kile knew it he was screaming at the top of his lungs forcing more of this power into himself. Suddenly the power inside from which he drew his strength shrunk then vanished. He had reached the limit of his power this was as far as he could go. He looked around and noticed all the underbrush which has been around him had been spread out around him in a circle fifteen feet around. He gaped as he realized it was he who caused this, his power. Kile brought his hand up and looked at it realizing that it could snap any normal... anything in half. His hand turned into a fist as he prepared to challenge his powerful bod! y seeing what it could do. He readied himself and began. He couldn't believe his own speed as his attacks turned to blurs when he sent them out. He hovered as he assaulted the air around him. My god this is unbelievable , he blasted the air with every ounce of strength he had powering through his imaginary enemies with incredible malice. Suddenly he stopped his attack hovering a few feet above the ground staring blankly into the forest. His eyes stung as sweat dripped down his brow and into his face. His muscles had to be twice their normal size and every one of them was filled with power. His energy was white hot and it ebbed and flowed like fire all around his body burning the ground as it flicked below his feet. Kile's eye pricked as he sensed the approach of his master. Hunong didn't usually come to spar with Kile until late at night. He must've sensed my power and come to check it out, Kile thought. Kile arched his neck to look at Hunong as he descended to Kile's training ground. " Is this powering up, I c-can't believe it. I feel awesome," Kile looked down at his hands as he spoke the words. Hunong simply stared at Kile with a serious eye, " do you think you could beat me?" Kile looked up speachless to the question, " well do you?" Kile's breaths were heavy " Yes," Kile readied himself for battle, raising one arm slightly in front of the other his hands in white knuckle fists. Hunong inhaled the mountain air letting it caress his lungs as it flowed down him. He brought his hands from behind his back placing them neatly to his sides. He didn't know what to make of Kile's progress. None of his students had ever excelled this quickly, everyday brought a new surprise for the old master, this new one was the most unexpected as of yet. But the old master still had many things to teach his young apprentice. " Are you ready to begin?" Hunong asked taking in another deep breath. The wind wisked through the forest bending small saplings and sending the tree tops into dance. A gust of wind flailed Kile's hair into his face, strands of his auburn locks flicked in front of his eyes.
